  The Cheltenham Arbour is an excellent product, and I have had so many positive comments from passers-by that I now avoid going in the front garden too often! Unfortunately one of the 4 packages was lost by the carrier but a phone call to One Garden, then a follow up email, and all the missing parts were delivered a week later - excellent service from seller and manufacturer. Construction is at least 2 persons and does require some planning and forethought but the result is superb.

  Lovely to look at arbour which took my husband and friend 4 hours to erect. Their only complaint was that the ridge covering was of poor quality so they put on a better one they made themselves (they are both carpenters). For me the seat is too high, as I’m only 5’1” and the seat not deep enough but now I have a step up/footrest and a cushion for my back and it’s perfect. I had a lovely nap in it yesterday, I love my arbour now. Buy the cushion pad, it’s well worth it.

  The overall quality of the arbor is excellent. The poor quality hinges on the seat let it down and I’ve replaced them with brass ones. Also it would have been useful to know that there are no pre drilled holes in the sections.   The standard of the Arbour construction is pretty good for it's price. BUT. Where the constructors let them selves down is with the instructions and the lack of pre-fit work. The provision of photocopied instructions with indistinct pictures, mainly too small to get a real idea as to exactly where to put screws etc results in the various parts not coming together for correct fitting. I had to adjust - re-adjust and add bits so that the roof could finally fit to the base. If each arbour had been pre-marked or even put together in advance and then flat packed the whole self fitting would have been so much easier and better. Just 1mm out in where you put screws multiplies to mean a part could be centimetres out in construction.

  Zest Cheltenham Arbour with Storage Box. Design - No clever flat pack design ideas here, try to get the fittings where they should be from studying the poor instructions, get someone to hold it in place then quickly get some screws in it before it moves. Hopefully it is in the right place, you will find out later. Instructions - Try and identify a part and guess where it fits, you should be able to get close by lining it up with other components which are fitted later on but there is a degree of artistic freedom in the final result. Construction - Incorrect assembly of the hinged seat assembly prior to delivery resulted in one of the seat base slats arriving cracked along its length, not a complete structural failure as there is an underlying carcass supporting the seat but not attractive and a potentially a bit splintery. We spent a lovely afternoon in the sun working out where the parts should line up with each other then trying to balance the barely supported back panels until the ill fitting roof could be hauled onto the top. I then added some supporting braces to the back panel, though it is probably okay with the extra screws I put in. The roof fits okay now, just a few gaps round the edges. Completed item - The overall effect from the completed item is quite good and it provides a nice place to sit in the garden. Additionally, the assembly did provide an interesting afternoon in the sun combining the efforts of a work out and a Sudoku puzzle.

HAVING SAID THAT, the arbour is now well used and loved, nobody sees the roof but the bird and they don't complain (I didn't complain only realised it after I had erected it) I have moaned but to tell the truth we love having evening meals in it, drinks and quiet moment relaxing in garden. Slight greenish blotches probably natural timber discolouration or effects of pressure treatment were covered with 2 coats of stain, which is readily applied whilst arbour is in separate sections as delivered. Some warping of timber meant slight trimming of seat-back piece to ensure best fit and secure fixing. Overall-good quality product and happy customer. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: You are correct, the "blotches" are a natural reaction between the salts within the timber and the pressure treatment process).

  After looking at many arbours, I decided on the Cheltenham because I liked the look of the upturned boat shape. The kit arrived on time but, unfortunately, one piece was missing and another slightly damaged. I contacted Customer Services and was dealt with efficiently and courteously and replacements were organised. These arrived by the appointed time, all intact. The person who assembled the arbour said it was easy and commented on how well-made it was. I am so pleased with this product - it adds such a lovely feature to my garden, and the added storage is a big bonus. It is now decorated with little solar lights and comes alive at dusk! I am totally satisfied with my purchase and a big thank-you to the Customer Services staff for their assistance, who deserve a 5* just for themselves.

  All pieces arrived. Just one slightly cracked panel, but we just reversed it so it would be hidden. You definitely need 2 people and it was a bit fiddly especially as our drill broke whilst drilling in the holes for the screws. Really heavy once constructed so best put together where you want it to finally be. We are going to put in some posts to help keep it in place in case it catches the wind. Now its up, it's really lovely and I love the design - just what we wanted, but not so expensive.

  We have been very pleased with the arbour. My only difficulty concerns the assembly instructions. The back panels were supplied with 3 screws per side but required 4 each side. The assembly instructions did not make clear that the side panels were not symmetrical as the seat support timbers are of different lengths, so needed to be positioned correctly. A photo of how the two roof members are butted together would have been helpful.
