Description
The Yardmaster 1017A metal garage provides an economical solution where a semi-permanent, as opposed to brick and/or block, garage is required.
This metal garage benefits from standard features which include rust-free screws, a ventilated and high-gabled profiled roof and free anchor bolt fixings; to secure the garage to your concrete or paved solid base. The roof includes two translucent roof panels which allow natural light to flood the internal space. The double doors are hinged with an intentional overlap, complete with handles and tower bolts to secure the doors closed. A braced hole in the doors allow you to secure them closed with your own padlock.
This 1017A apex metal garage is supplied in a grey painted finish as part of the 7-layer anti-corrosion protection process offered by Yardmaster across their range of quality hot-dipped galvanized buildings. The strong yet neat looking vertical ribbed wall and roof panels are thicker and harder to dent, with folded edges for safe assembly.
Supplied with a DIY assembly manual, the flat-pack components are clearly numbered for self-assembly. A common installation involves screwing the pre-holed metal profiled sheeting to a skeleton-style framework, complete with a base rail.

Took a good while to build but has withstood Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin without drama. We had one missing piece which was sent without question once we reported it. The unit seems flimsy when you are building it but becomes stiffer and stiffer as the final pieces are connected, overall a very good building for the price.

This is my first yardmaster shed, it was somewhat cheaper than the wooden alternative, so was expecting it to be of a poorer quality, and that it is evident in the physical weight of the shed once complete, even with it fully constructed I could lift the sides to install the screws at low level. It does misalign sometimes, and as a previous review stated, i needed to drill a couple of additional holes as it was easier than searching for the "missing" one. The doors do twist, and it is not strong enough to be considered safe to store anything you don't mind losing, but for the money it is extremely good value, as the quality of the panelling is pretty good. You will need to allocate a fair bit of time to construct, but there was no rush for me, and completed it over a couple of weekends, but definately quicker with 2 of you, as getting the washers on the screws over 100 times, it is a bit frustrating, and the side panels on their own will twist more than you think. Overall pleased with my purchase, but it is only a shed after all.

For me, this was good buy for a few reasons, cost, size, metal, out of sight location anyway, and a project I don't mind to build. There's no doubt it is a time consuming and weather permitting project (gusts!). I did manage to construct all myself, but I did have some space to build on, bigger than that required, with some space around (a couple wheelie bins helped keep some uprights in place until I fastened). I did need to drill holes that were missing, or new slightly offset holes.....only a few, and easy to do without a problem). I did have assistance available if needed, but would say this would actually be quite a tricky thing to divide up the work on...if just a one off (going through instructions for the first time). It's like a large meccano project, looking through the instructions, double checking and sometimes trying something (maybe reversing something) once you know more. For me, I was kind of expecting this and don't mind!

My yardmaster garage is now complete. It is standing at the end of allotment, filled with my garden machines.
Thankfully I purchased this building during lockdown which meant it had my full attention, it was a challenge to follow the instructions at times but with the help of my wife and daughter I we managed to complete the construction. There where no missing parts and we had more than enough screws and washers. I am very happy with the building, at times during construction I was concerned, a couple of windy gusts had us all hanging on as the building at that point was very unstable and seemed rather flimsy, but once we started fixing the roof the whole thing came together and stand firm and secure. I would consider buying another yardmaster garden building instead of a wooden shed as I have need in the future. Thank you -

One Garden offer a good price. Feedback on Yardmaster shed: 1. Difficult to erect even with 2 paid professionals, 2. Flimsy and doors difficult/ impossible to align even on specially prepared concrete base, 3. Delay of extra 2-3 weeks due to apparent manufacturing delays at Yardmaster, 4. Good size for general storage and nice wide entrance but I wouldn’t store anything valuable as not secure. 5. Not unattractive and fits in ok
